Perla del Garda

Via Fenil Vecchio, 9, 25017 Lonato del Garda, BS, Italia

Perla del Garda was born from an ambitious idea: to restore the vineyard to the moraine hills of our farm. Hand-picking the grapes and gravity-fed vinification are the two cornerstones of our production method.

We took our first steps by examining the soil characteristics and microclimate of the moraine hills south of Lake Garda. This was the starting point for selecting the rootstocks, deciding on the number of plants per hectare, and the vine training system. Over time, we added vines over 30 years old to enhance the complexity and distinctiveness of our wines. Harvesting is done exclusively by hand, sorting the bunches into small crates that are then taken to the cellar.

In the municipality of Lonato, our vineyard extends over approximately 43 hectares dedicated to the production of Lugana and Garda DOP wines, while between Padenghe and Soiano we produce Valtènesi Chiaretto Riviera del Garda Classico DOP wines exclusively from organic grapes and old vines of approximately 5 hectares belonging to the prestigious Zuliani family.

The total vineyard area is 48 hectares in sustainable agriculture certified EQUALITAS by Valoritalia, SQNPI and VIVA, of which 13 hectares are organic certified by Sidel.

Perla del Garda is a three-level winery, designed to allow for gravity-fed vinification. On the grape inlet level, we select the bunches, gently vacuum-press the white grapes, and destem the red ones. The wines are produced using processes and infrastructure consistent with sustainability principles, following internationally recognized standards and models, in compliance with the "MAKEitSUSTAINABLE" technical specification.
